Privacy Policy

Who I am

"Made by Zo" is the publishing name of the independent developer listed as the seller on each app's App Store page. This policy covers every Made by Zo app and this website (madebyzo.com). If an app ever handles information differently, its App Store page and an app-specific section on this site will say so.

Information stored on your device

Everything you enter in an app (answers, entries, settings, reminders, and photos or videos if an app uses them) is saved only on your iPhone. It isn't uploaded to me or any server, and I have no way to access it. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; they don't come from a server.

Some apps let you take photos or record short video clips with sound (for example, daily check-in clips in Be Stubborn). The camera and microphone are used only while you're taking a photo or recording, and the files stay on your iPhone. A photo or video leaves your phone only if you choose to save or share it yourself, for example through the iPhone share sheet to Photos, Messages or a social app. After that, the app or service you shared it with handles it under its own policy.

If you use iCloud or iPhone backups, Apple may include this data in your backups under Apple's privacy policy.

Anonymous usage analytics

The apps send anonymous usage events to PostHog, an analytics service, so I can see things like how many people finish setup, which screens are used and when something breaks. This includes:

• actions in the app (for example "opened the app", "finished setup", "viewed the subscription screen")
• device and app details (iPhone model, iOS version, app version, language)
• a random identifier created by the app, so events from the same install can be grouped together

Analytics never include your name, email, or anything you type, photograph or record in the app. Your IP address is used only to estimate your approximate country and region, and is not stored. PostHog processes this data on my behalf.

Subscriptions and purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple. I don't receive your name, email, or payment details.

To check whether you have an active subscription and to let you restore purchases, the apps use RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your Apple purchase receipt, device details (such as device type and iOS version), and when you last used the app. RevenueCat processes this data on my behalf.

When you email me

If you contact support, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply and help you, and I keep it only as long as needed for that. Email is delivered through Cloudflare's email forwarding and Google's Gmail.

This website

madebyzo.com doesn't use cookies, ads, or analytics. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks.

How information is used and shared

I use the information above only to run, support and improve the apps. I don't sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build profiles about you. It's shared only with the service providers named in this policy, who process it on my behalf, or when required by law.

How long it's kept

• On-device data: until you delete it or delete the app.
• Analytics: kept in aggregate to see trends over time, and deleted when no longer needed.
• Purchase records: kept by RevenueCat and Apple as needed to manage your subscription and meet legal and accounting requirements.
• Support emails: kept as long as needed to help you, then deleted.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your data: deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
• Notifications: turn reminders off in the app's settings or in iPhone Settings.
• Access or deletion requests: email support@madebyzo.com. Because analytics and purchase data aren't linked to your name or email, I may not be able to match them to you, but I'll help however I can and delete any emails you've sent me.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete your personal information. Email me to use them; I won't treat you differently for doing so.

Children

Made by Zo apps are not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, email me and I'll delete it.

Security

Your entries stay on your device, protected by your iPhone's own security. Data sent to the services above is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but I keep what I collect to a minimum.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, I'll also let you know in the apps.
